Preparing Your Quilt for Quilting
Useful Information for you:
Sewing and quilting have long been family traditions. I was first taught handstitching and then progressed to machine sewing. As I look back, I kept my hands busy while also feeling creative. This is what I love about making things! Since I received so many quilts from my grandmothers and aunts, I focused on other sewing interests for many years. It was in 2001 when I saw a longarm quilting machine for the first time and I had to get my hands on it. The adventure began. I discovered the thrill beyond traditional piecework and quilting while exploring the endless creative options through use of color, fiber, decorative stitchwork and surface embellishment. Every quilt is a unique and personal expression of its creator. I would love to be part of this creative process and assist you in the quilting.

More Examples of My Work:
In "Thread Play," the patchwork is complemented by free motion feathering and stitched shapes seen in the batik.
The patchwork was designed to create the effect of water.
The Fiber Art Divas presents a show of fiber art at the Naperville Art League each October.  I created a banner (below left) for the group with examples of many of the members' talents.
On the right is a free-motion quilted piece I made for a show. "Thread Play" was just that in the making. I used many of the feather techniques I've been studying.
